Description

The City of Hillsboro seeks written proposals from qualified vendors able to provide services for the following categories. These services include scheduled maintenance activities such as tree trimming and aerial make ready work as well as emergency restoration of damaged conduit, handholes, and cable for the City’s fiber optic network outside plant. The City realizes that vendors may not provide all of the items requested in this RFP. We have established the following service categories. Suppliers may choose to respond to one or more categories of work. Suppliers may respond to each category of product in the same proposal.  Separate proposals are not required.  The service categories are: Emergency Restoration and Repair - Underground Emergency Restoration and Repair - Aerial Aerial Make Ready Work Assessment and Maintenance of Aerial Outside Plant (including tree trimming) Maintenance of Underground Outside Plant (including moving infrastructure) Splicing and Fiber Termination Hillsboro is building a municipal broadband network for our City. The FTTP network will provide high speed Internet service and VoIP telephone service to both residential and commercial end users citywide. It is the intent of the City to provide these services to each residence and business in the community through a phased network construction project that will began in 2019. The City has approximately 38,000 households and 6,700 commercial entities. There is a mix of multi-dwelling units (MDU’s), residential, and commercial customers.  The contractors selected as a result of this RFP will help us maintain this broadband network.
