Description

Portland State University (“PSU”) is accepting electronic bids for the University Place (UP) Brick Façade Repair (“Project”). The Scope of Work (“Work”) for the project is to repair selected weather damaged brick masonry façade elements, including exterior facing brick columns and non-structural brick fin walls. 

Areas of work, as identified in the construction documents, along the facade require one or more of the following procedures:  major brick repair, general brick repair, the sealing of cracks in both bricks and joints, sealing of the concrete to brick intersections on the balcony areas as identified in the design documents, the cleaning and removal of organic materials such as moss and plant growth.  After the cleaning and repairs have been completed, the brick masonry and mortar materials are to be seal-coated with clear weather sealant / anti-graffiti coating, as specified.

Each Bid provided shall include all the labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the following Work as summarized below and as outlined within the attached design documents (Appendix 2.10 PSU Construction Drawings & Specifications), and this write up.

Pre-Bid Conference

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be conducted at the time and location listed on the cover page of this solicitation.  Only bidders who have an employee at the meeting shall be allowed to bid.  Attendance will be documented through a sign-in sheet prepared by the PSU representative.  After the meeting there may be a walk through and examination of the site and conditions.  

Prime bidders who arrive more than 5 minutes after start of time of the meeting (as stated in the solicitation and by the PSU representative’s watch) or after the discussion portion of the meeting (whichever comes first) may not be permitted to submit a bid on the project.
