Description

Make the World Better Foundation (MTWB) was selected as the Project User for Vare Recreation Center through the Rebuild First Round project selection process. The Vare Recreation Center site includes a 100+ year old recreation building, pool, sports field, two basketball courts, two ball fields, and a playground.. Due to structural instability, its second floor has been shut down, limiting the programs available at the site. Presumed site renovations include a new ~20,000 SF Recreation Building, new sports fields, play space and other site amenities. The project will be designed to obtain LEED Silver Certification from the US Green Building Council.   It is MTWB’s intent to award to the firm most qualified to meet the interests of the City of Philadelphia and the community surrounding Vare Recreation Center and which provides the best value for services. MTWB specifically is interested in receiving proposals from qualified M/W/DBE firms in line with the goals of meeting Rebuild’s goals of inclusion for this project. The goal for M/B/DBE participation for Professional Services is 34% MBE, 21% WBE.
