Description

The Johnny Sample Recreation Center and Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Education Center are two existing facilities serving the Cobbs Creek community. The scope for the recreation center is anticipated to include exterior and interior improvements including infrastructure improvements, pool improvements, playground improvements, and other site improvements. The recreation center may also be a candidate for a new building. If selected, Community Ventures and the selected design team would conduct a cost benefit analysis between renovation of the existing building or demolition/new construction. The scope for the Environmental Education Center is anticipated to include site lighting, playground improvements, and exterior improvements to the historic building. The total project budget for the two sites combined cannot exceed $15,000,000 to $18,000,000 and includes design, construction, community engagement, equipment/furnishings and other fees.
